Writrz Block

Writrz Block is a show that invigorates artists and forces them to tap into their on-the-fly content creation while incorporating a sense of competition by father-son duo, James and Bakir Floyd. When artists arrive at the Writrz Block studio they are given a beat at random. Once the music begins, the artists have a 3 hour countdown to create a hit record. Artists must compete against each other in a time crunch to see who can create the best hit song in the allotted time.

In addition to the show, Writrz Block has also developed their own app that allows artists & producers to receive compensation for their work. As an artist, one can challenge others to a 24-hour song dual which utilizes beats created by producers on the app. To add an extra layer of complexity, artists are only granted 10-second snippets of beats until the challenge is either accepted or denied. Upon accepting a beat, the full version will then be emailed to the artist(s) and the 24-hour counter begins.

“One More Night” is a featured track on the show by The Floyds & Altrina Renee. It's garnered over 1.3 million streams and is living proof that Writrz Block’s quick succession of media and fast-paced competition paves way for future hit records.

Writrz Block is an intriguing yet fast pace show which tests artists and producers. In such a fast-paced climate as today, high volumes of content and information are presented quickly in succession.
